So, I have been thinking about ComfyCo and dealing with their seal for a while. Knowing that we (and by we, I mean possibly Nate in a more specific sense) will have to deal with the Seal directly, I came up with an idea.
We negotiate with the Benefactor (who will be mentioned only as Bennie from here on out by me).
Now, before you start throwing bad cabbage at me, hear me out.
The problematic fact we have before us is this: We cannot kick Bennie out of the seal, unless someone has something up their sleeve.
We CAN however, with the use of the badge, negotiate with him, or most likely, a servant or demon (Im betting the latter) of his. Expect a finely suited gentleman (read: bureaucratic vulture) either way.
Here is my idea: We know Bennie likes gaining stuff: slaves, money, posessions, you *name* it.
If Chalithac takes over: No more stuff for Bennie. In fact, Bennie loses BIG time. Maybe. I doubt Chalithac would be willing to share the anthill afterwards.
If we can prove to Bennie one way or another that we have the means by which we can boot Chalithac out, but need to use the seal to do it, what would be the odds of him allowing us to access the seal for JUST that purpose?
We all know Bennie is going to want to "deal". Its what he does. That said, he's going to try to swindle us nine ways to sunday as legally as possible, and THATS what we need to avoid.
Now, dont get me wrong. I KNOW this is a bad idea. But, unless I'm mistaken, its one of the only ways we can access the seal. (Breaking ComfyCo up is completely OUT of the current picture, unfortunately)

My concern would be what affect the tainted Seal would have on the other Seals that would be plugged in to the power strip. If the Benefactor's influence or the corruption of that Seal would not be able to spread to the others - and this could be confirmed beforehand, and not just through that representative (I'll ask Lionel about it when next we see him, as he'd know better than I) - I'd feel better about it.
That concern aside, it's a good idea at the core, playing an Entity off another one.

if i recall correctly there was some talk about going over the founding paperwork and seein' if the one that made the deal (name escapes me at the moment, sorry) had the right to make the bargain and speak for the corporation as an entity without the other founder's approval.
I agree that the concept of the idea sounds good, but having just been played by one entity (bai-thos) im not eager to set ourselves up for another one to abuse our good intentions

Robbie - You're on crack. Just Sayin'
As far as i can tell there is no deal to be made although I'm still working on it. There is however a few ways to make it go south, much like stock market bust. Cutting off the flow of corruption alone will sour the milk assuming I can stay there long enough or someone can whip up ritual to make it stick. I'm still working on the rest. _________________ "Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve." |

...Thats a really large assumption, and whipping up a ritual may take some time. . .time we really dont have right now. Gaining use of the seal should take priority right now. We can kick Bennie in the junk and take the seal back when we dont have a rather annoying Entity almost at our doorstep. _________________ “The few wonders of the world only exist while there are those with the sight to see them.”

That doo-dad lets me get in and interrupt the flow. That HAS to play some part in this. I'll know more by Fall. _________________ "Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve." |
